For the Culture Awards 2023, Vejle Kommune chose to commission an artist to design and create the statuettes for both the Culture Award and the Initiative Award. I am proud to announce that I was given the opportunity to craft the awards for this year's Culture Awards.

Both awards I made have an abstract appearance. The Cultural Prize features elements inspired by the elephant. I chose the elephant as my inspiration for the Cultural Award because it is a large and heavy animal, much like Vejle Theatre who won the culture award, which has played a significant role in the local cultural scene.

The Initiative Award incorporates features reminiscent of the peregrine falcon, the world's fastest animal. I made this connection because the award is presented to individuals or organizations that have taken swift and impactful initiatives. This year's Initiative Award winner was STEDORD.

Both statuettes feature flowers, symbolizing beauty and growth. Additionally, each statuette includes a prominent red heart on the back, symbolizing the idea that you carry your heart with you in everything you do, much like a kind of backpack.
